I have worked in social care for about 20 years, and have enjoyed supporting people of all ages and abilities through changes in their lives. I have also worked on my own self development, and have had my own ups and downs in life.
Wherever possible I have used natural and complementary ways to look after myself and my family. I started practicing yoga almost 40 years ago, then tai chi and chi gung almost 25 years ago (like many of us my practice has been intermittent!).
I believe that the mind, body and spirit are interconnected, so if one is damaged in any way it will affect the other. I also believe that, like the chrysalis, in the right conditions we open up and flourish, ready to fly like a butterfly and achieve our goals. There are times when the environment around us is negative, or we encounter physical or emotional injury, so our energy flow becomes blocked. Tai chi, chi gung and yoga were exercises that provided me with ways to keep my own healing energy flowing. I was pleased to be able to share some of the tia chi exercises with work colleagues in times of stress. When I started getting sciatica, which left me in great physical pain and unable to even get out of bed at times, I turned to acupuncture, which successfully eased the pain.
I moved to Gloucestershire about 11 years ago. Quite soon I had a trial reiki session. I was so impressed by the healing effect that I completed a reiki 1 course and was later very pleased to become a reiki 2 practitioner.
More recently I discovered Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). My sister had suffered ME for many years. After she used EFT I saw such an amazing and positive change in her that I became interested and completed the training myself to become a qualified practitioner.
I am a Level 2 Emotional Freedom Techniques Practitioner, registered with The Association for the Advancement of Meridian Energy Techniques (AAMET). I comply with the AAMET Code of Ethics and undertake ongoing professional development and mentoring.
I have attained Second Degree in the Usui Shiki Ryoho REIKI method of Natural Healing, and undertake ongoing professional development and mentoring
